2022: APSTE CONFERENCE

APSTE Annual Fono 2022

Thursday 8 December

(9.30am – 4.30pm, followed by the APSTE dinner.)

Jet Park Conference Centre, Auckland Airport

THEME: APSTE 2022 AND BEYOND: IT’S NOW OR NEVER!

The landscape of education post-pandemic is different – it’s changed!

The establishment of Te Pukenga and the increase of Pacific in Trades apprentices and Vocational education have shown that we can no longer ‘do’ as we have been doing for several years.

Anecdotal evidence and everyday Talanoa have shown that Pacific students are taking on part-time work, earning and learning as a better-family-assisting-pathway until our education / academic career pathway is stable.

Tertiary students are going through post-covid adjustment whilst trying to pass.

As educators;

Can we afford to wait until the new normal arrives? Or is it here already?

Can we risk the opportunity of, e.g. making our student workers become managers of their own franchises?

When will Pacific-qualified health workers be enough to respond to our community, as shown by Covid-19?

Now is the time for our leaders to lead and deliver by standing on their ground, introducing confidence, and increasing Pacific capability and capacity success.

Now is the time to have a Talanoa, old and young, traditional and contemporary, local and global, to bring about the dreams of our parents and migration navigators.

NOW is the time to WALK the TALK!

Register to attend this ground-breaking Fono so you can participate in APSTE 2022 and beyond!
